The Royal Life Guards Music Band performed in Latvia for the first time
In connection with "Nordic Days" in Cēsis, which was organized by the Nordic embassies in Latvia and the Nordic Council of Ministers, the embassy of Denmark and the Danish Cultural Institute in the Baltics had the unique opportunity on the 21 of September to present the Royal Life Guards Music Band at a fantastic concert in the beautiful concert hall in Cēsis. The band played a potpourri of Nordic and Latvian music in front of a packed and enthusiastic concert hall.
Ambassador Flemming Stender welcomed to the concert and in his speech he referred to the fact that the Royal Life Guards Music Band was invited because of the many Danish soldiers that are currently stationed in Latvia.
The Royal Life Guards Music Band (Den Kongelige Livgardes Musikkorps) is the foremost military band in the Danish Defence and the official regimental band of the Danish Royal Life Guards. The band participates in parades and ceremonies for the royal family, as well as for the government and the military, to increase the esprit de corps in the army units as well as in the public.
