Ties Through Time: Denmark and Latvia
Diplomatic relations between Denmark and Latvia were marked at a conference in Riga on 25 of August 2021, organised by the Danish Embassy and the Danish Cultural Institute in the Baltics.
The conference looked back 30 years at the events connected with the re-establishment of the diplomatic relations in August 1991. Furthermore, it focused on Denmark's role in connection with the Latvian independence war of 1918-1921 and Denmark's recognition de jure of Latvia in 1921, as well as the history of relations between Denmark and the area, which is now Latvia.
In connection with the conference, an anniversary booklet was launched with a series of articles on the historical relations between Denmark and Latvia.
