100 years of diplomatic relations between Denmark and Latvia

This year marks the 100th anniversary of Denmark's recognition de jure of the Republic of Latvia, and the establishment of diplomatic relations between Denmark and Latvia in 1921. Denmark recognized Latvia on 7 February 1921 and was among the first countries to recognize Latvia.

2021 is also the 30th anniversary of the restoration of diplomatic relations between the two countries in 1991 (24 August). Denmark was also among the very first countries to restore diplomatic relations with Latvia after the independence in 1991.

During this year, a number of events will be held in connection with the 100th year and 30th year jubilees. More information will follow on the embassy’s website and social media.
